Thrift Store Hunting

spring trends you should thrift

We’re just gonna ignore that fact that the last time this blog was updated was July of 2020. Cool? Cool.

So it’s Springtime in the city and all the cool kids are dusting off their Spring/Summer items and putting their Fall/Winter pieces away for some much-needed hibernation. The change of fashion seasons always have folks going out and adding the latest trend pieces to their closets but there is no need to break the bank buying something that will be out of style in a few months so I’m giving you a few trends you should thrift to save a bit of coin!

  • Puff Sleeves: My favorite trend of them all is this one. There is just something about a puff sleeve top that makes a basic look seem a bit more elevated. Finding this trend in the wild can be a bit of a process so if you want to snag this one sooner rather than later, I suggest searching in a curated vintage shop, eBay, and even Etsy.
  • Wide Leg Trousers: As the kid who used to “borrow” her father’s suits to wear to school, this trend brings back memories! Out of all the trends featured in this post, this is by far the easiest because all you have to do is go to the men’s sections. I feel like I should say more, but I kinda feel like I don’t have to.
  • Pastels: Pastel colors are always in season this time of year BUT it’s having a real moment right now. Many secondhand shops are putting; or have already, put out their Spring/Summer stock and they’re always filled with the prettiest shades of pastel.
  • Crop Tops: I listed this one not because there is an abundance of crop tops in thrift stores; though you’ll be able to find a few, but because you can literally just make one. Find a top you like, take a pair of scissors to it, and BOOM, you have a crop top!

And that’s it!

Check out the full list of Spring/Summer trends here and let me know what trend you’re looking forward to getting this style season.

XOXO,

Shanna
