I’ve read more than my fair share of “I Quit” post by bloggers who finally make the leap to ditch their 9-5 and make content creating a full-time gig. Each time I read one I fell this rush of total empowerment and I can imagine myself composing the same blog post with a mixture of excitement, fear and optimism. In the middle of my daydreaming I’m faced by two facts; I’m not making any money from this blog to pay the bills and I love my job! Plunged back into my reality; albeit not a bad one, I have to start asking myself a tough question.
Do I leave the job I love to purse the job I also love??
This question does not have an immediate answer. It’s a question I will have to ask myself more than twice and really have search my soul to find. My full-time job is working with children and besides a short stent working at Express and Food Lion in college, it’s the only job I’ve ever had; well not my current job lol! On the other hand, I love creating in this space and the freedom that comes with it. Now don’t get me wrong, I get to do a lot of creating in with my current job but there is nothing like creating your own and watching it grow.
Now I could do both; I have seen many bloggers juggle 9-5’s and blog but I’m not sure. To be honest, I’m not sure about anything. I’m really in the beginning stages of this and I will be figuring it out along the way. I’m not going to promise you this will be a well planned out weekly, bi-weekly or monthly series. Just when I feel the need to hash things out I’ll post and if you are so obliged, you’ll read lol
